Obra-Prima
Portuguese-style red table wine. For years the Portuguese have been known for there fine Ports. What a lot of people in the US do not know, is that the grapes used to make some of the worlds best Ports also make fantastic dry red wines. We blended three Portuguese varietals to make our 2005 Obra-Prima; Touriga National, Alvarelhao and Sousau. The flavors are bold in the beginning but the finish is silky smooth. In Portuguese Obra-Prima means masterpiece. We feel this is as close as we can get to making our own Portuguese Wine Masterpiece. And besides, we like the way it sounds.

Cabernet Franc
2005 was a great year for this grape. Ours came in at 28+ brix from Sutter Ridge in Amador County. When all was said and done we were left with 15.58% alcohol and less than 0.05% residual sugar. Be skeptical but don’t be afraid, all this means is we made an extremely tasty wine. We taste black current, cherry and spice, you can taste what you want.

Petite Sirah
Once again, the fruit was beautiful! We were going to use this as a blending wine, but it turned out so good, we kept it all by itself. By no stretch is this a petite wine. Full of fruit, deep and dark. (This is Ashley’s favorite, go figure)

Cabernet Sauvignon
We did an extended maturation on this one. A true Cabernet, as you know, needs to age. We have done this in French oak now for two years, well worth the wait. Bold and fruity as a cab should be.

Po House Red
Even though this is our “Charity Wine” it’s a fabulous wine! Made of 100% Portuguese Alvarelhao, another back bone for traditional Portuguese Vintage Port. It’s smooth with a slight floral essence and wonderful with any dish or alone. Everyone loves this wine and not just for the great picture and price.

Vintage Port
We used only Portuguese grapes for our traditional Vintage Port in 2005. Touriga National, Sousau and Alvarelhao. Aged in neutral oak for two years our Port is made to last. Like a true Portuguese-style Port ours is not too sweet, so you can taste all the flavors of the fruit. Our friend Jen claimed to not be a fan of Port, until she tasted our Port. We are pleased to enlighten the skeptics of the world.

Tawny Port
This is where it all began. Beautiful color, mildly sweet with a classic nutty taste and hints of coffee.
